Poker Table Plans
You will need to eiter figure out how to build a poker table yourself or find some
poker table plans on the internet. There are a lot of good plans out there. We suggest getting a few of them, read them, get ideas from them, and then design your own. put your own personal touch into it.
NOTE: Don't bother paying anyone for poker table plans, there are plenty of good, free ones out there.
Once you design your table, next thing is to get all of your
poker table supplies. The wood, screws and some of the hardware you will need to get from a local home improvement store. The rest of the materials might be tough to find at a local store.
Poker Table Felt
Finding a quality
poker table felt will be tough to find at a local store. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy regular felt from a fabric store. After the first time you play on it, it will begin to produce annoying little felt balls. There are several quality poker table felt choices from online stores. The two most popular are Suited Speed Cloth and Velveteen. Both provide good playing surface.
Suited Speed Cloth
Suited Speed Cloth is a highly durable fabric. The fabric is waterproof. Any spills will just bead up and can be easily cleaned up with a towel. The suited speed cloth has a design of suites on it, making it a perfect poker table playing surface.
Velveteen
Velveteen provides a soft playing surface and cards slide with ease accross it. This fabric come in solid colors.
Other Materials
You will need foam from both the playing surface and from the armrest rail. Vinyl will also be need for the rail. Then ther are the optional items like cup holders, chip trays and money boxes.
